The Bahá'í Language Educators Special Interest Group (SIG) of the Association for Bahá'í Studies,
North America, was established in 2001 to develop a language teaching curriculum and sets of classroom activities based on principles of the Bahá'í Faith. A textbook aimed at intermediate learners of English as a Second/Foreign Language is currently in progress.
The SIG also promotes research integrating Bahá'í principles with second language acquisition theory
and pedagogy, and is setting up a mentoring program to assist new language educators and those working in overseas situations.
